Plesk allows you to easily set up and manage file sharing on your server. You can configure your server for three levels of access to the files: Private (only you can access the files), Shared (authorized users can access the files), and Public (anyone can access the files).
Requirements
- A server with Plesk (any operating system)
This tutorial uses the Power User view. You can change the Plesk view by clicking Change View at the bottom of the column on the left.
File Sharing Overview
Log into the Plesk admin panel and click File Sharing.

There are three areas in the File Sharing section. The first is Personal Files, which only you can access.

The second area is Shared Files, which can be accessed only by authorized users.

The third area is Public Files, which can be accessed by anyone.

You can check the flag at the top to see which area you are in, as a secondary prompt.

Upload Files
To upload one or ore files to the File Sharing folders, click Upload Files.

A pop-up window will appear with the options for uploading the file(s). Click Choose File to select a file to upload.

Select the file, then click Open to upload it to the server.

To upload another file, click Add file and repeat the file selection process.

When you have added all the files you wish to upload, choose the upload folder you want to use: Personal, Shared, or Public.

Click Next to choose the email settings.

In the next pop-up window, select a security setting.
- The first option will restrict all access to the files to only authorized users.

If you choose the second option, you can also select how long the link will be active before it expires.

In the next section, you will choose which email accounts receive a link to the files. On the left, you can choose authorized Plesk users. On the right, you can fill in one or more external email addresses.

Next, fill out the email subject and the body of the email you wish to send. Click OK to send the email(s).
